  Disconnection Box Brackets (DiBB)

Here is a brief synopsis of the current position in the introduction of the DiBB bracket range of products into the Railway Industry.

After listening to colleagues, potential clients and the industry stakeholders we have now produced samples of a range of four bracket types in their final form that should meet everyone’s requirements.

Pictures and details of these can be seen on the revised Product Flyer and in person (if you call we will arrange a visit).

The essence of the design remains unchanged, however we have removed the ‘lid’ of the section that straddles the wall of the trough route and have strengthened the upright to eradicate ‘wobble’.

Initial destruction tests have been carried out by Newcastle University on the brackets to understand stability and potential weak points together with the concrete route section that it uses as its method of installation. Further tests are planned to ensure complete system compatibility and reliance.

We are currently seeking ISO 9001 accredited Steel Fabrication companies who are keen (with the emphasis on keen!) to participate in the production of the product.

We are now also ready to present the documentation package to the ‘sponsor’ required to seek initial product approval.

We’ve had the paperwork ready since October 2005, but lack of a Network Rail Sponsor has stalled the process. We are confident that, should a sponsor be forthcoming, we can achieve product approval within 3 months of Network Rail signing up.

We sincerely believe that this product range is needed by the industry and will not only offer savings but also (and probably more importantly) eradicate the potential underground buried service incidents associated with Disconnection Box installation.

If you would like to know more and/or would like to participate in bringing this product range into the industry then please give us a call.
